Daraw is a fintech startup focused on tools for budgeting, expense tracking, and personal financial planning.

The name references a city in Egypt known for one of the country’s largest camel markets. Long central to Egyptian culture, trade and transport, camels symbolize endurance, resilience and adaptability.

The founders aimed to translate these qualities into a brand that feels modern, trustworthy and adaptable across platforms. The challenge was to reference Egyptian heritage without slipping into literal or touristic imagery, while remaining credible in a financial context.


Design Process

The logo centers on a simplified camel form, reduced to its most essential shapes to maintain clarity and recognition. The abstraction allows the symbol to function at any size.

Rather than leaning into the warm desert colors typically associated with Egyptian imagery, I chose a cooler range of blues, aligning the brand with visual cues of trust and financial stability, and distancing it from interpretations related to tourism or regional commerce.

The result is a mark that feels both rooted and forward-looking.
